The match between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira saw Adesanya taking an early advantage by almost putting Pereira away in the first round.
Severally, Adesanya dominated the first four rounds and took Pereira down on occasions. Then in the final round, MMA news reports that Pereira “staged a remarkable come-from-behind win by unloading on Israel against the fence and getting the TKO”.
In the fifth round, Pereira landed body shots, to which Adesanya responded. Attempting to give a leg kick, Adesanya trips and Pereira fails to take advantage. Adesanya regains composure but a series of punches, and an upper cut from Pereira knocks out Adesanya.
The victory earned by Pereira at Madison square in the early hours of Sunday, has made him the middleweight champion after just four fights in the UFC and eight in total. @stylebender @alexpoatanpereira
