Pep Guardiola has renewed his contract as manager of Manchester City for an additional two seasons until 2027.

The 53-year-old Spaniard joined City in 2016 and has won 18 trophies, including six Premier League titles. His contract had been due to expire at the end of the current season.

“Manchester City means so much to me” Guardiola told the club’s website. “This is my ninth season here. We have experienced so many amazing times together. I have a really special feeling for this football club.”

“I have said this many times before, but I have everything a manager could ever wish for, and I appreciate that so much. Hopefully now we can add more trophies to the ones we have already won. That will be my focus.”

Guardiola’s tenure in Manchester City has seen the club achieve a historic treble in 2023, comprising the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League, as well as four consecutive League Cup victories between 2018 and 2021.
