Manchester City failed to secure a win for the eighth time in nine matches as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Palace went ahead in the fourth minute as Daniel Munoz netted a goal, before Erling Haaland levelled in the 30th minute. The Crystal Palace regained the lead in the 56th minute via Maxence Lacroix but City pulled one back again, through Rico Lewis, in the 68th minute.
However, Lewis got a yellow card late in the game as City forged ahead with a 10-man squad.
City remain fourth in the standing, with 27 points from 15 games. On the other hand, Palace moved one spot up to 17th with 13 points. City sits eight points behind Liverpool, with more drooped points denting their bid for a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
Speaking after the game, Machester City boss Pep Gaurdiola conceded that City made mistakes. “Football is a game of mistakes”, said Guardiola in his post-match interview.
“We made a fantastic two goals and of course in the set pieces right now they are stronger than us, every single team, so we try to concede few and that is what we are doing. To come back in this stadium is not easy, we tried, and I’m really pleased with many things I saw.”
