President Bola Tinubu has appointed Orire Agbaje, a 400 level student of the University of Ibadan (UI) as a member of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
Agbaje is reportedly the President of the Tax Club, University of Ibadan, as well as the president of the Nigerian Universities Tax Club.
President Tinubu had launched the committee on Tuesday in Abuja. The committee is led by, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele a tax and fiscal policy expert.
The committee is in charge of several aspects of tax law reforms, fiscal policy design as well as the coordination, harmonization of taxes and revenue administration. “The committee, in the first instance is expected to deliver a schedule of quick reforms that can be implemented within thirty days”, said President Tinubu.
“Critical reform measured should be recommended within six months, and full implementation will take place within one calendar year.”
