Jones has moved up to the highest weight class after a three-year hiatus with a less-than-three-minute win against Ciryl Gane in the first round at the UFC 285 in Las Vegas.
Speaking on his win, Jones said “I’ve been working for this for such a long time, but I’ve been faithful to my goal. I’ve been faithful to the mission. There were days that I didn’t want to train but I always there.”
He added “I had to show up and get (Gane) down to the ground. I’ve been wrestling since I was 12-years-old. I feel stronger than ever. Once I got him in my hands, I know I could take control.”
Jones, 35 who has now won 19 fights is looking at a showdown against Stipe Miocic next. He said “My whole world is going to be focused on him. This is the biggest opportunity of my life, to beat the heavyweight GOAT.
“I am going to give it everything I have got. I am not only going to beat Stipe Miocic, I am going to finish Stipe Miocic.”
