Calgary Police Probe Undetermined Death At SAIT Campus

Calgary Police Service (CPS), are currently investigating after a person was found dead inside a student residence in northwest Calgary early on Wednesday evening.

The police news release says officers were called around 5:40pm on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 to a student residence tower at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), located in the 100 block of Dr. Carpenter Circle N.W., for reports of a deceased person.

“The officer of the Chief Medical Examiner attended the scene and an autopsy is being scheduled”, reads the release. “At this time, the death remains undetermined and Homicide Unit investigators are working to determine whether the death is criminal. Detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and working to conduct a next-of-kin notification.”

Police says there are no risks to public safety. However, CPS is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 403-266-1234 or drop anonymous tips on Crime Stoppers.
