Calgary Police Charge Man in Relation to Several Cannabis Store Robberies

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) have identified, located, and charged a man in relation to several cannabis store robberies in the past few months.

Police sough information about the suspect in September 2024. However, the man has now been in identified after an additional robbery that took place in October.

In a news release, CPS says a man entered the Circle K convenience store located at 1919 Sirocco Dr. S.W. on Tuesday Oct. 15, 2024 at around 1am. “Once inside, the man brandished a firearm and demanded food and cigarettes from the store.”

“Shortly after he fled with several stolen items, officers located the man nearby and arrested him”, reads the statement. “During the investigation it was determined the man was also believed to be responsible for a string of robberies that occurred over the summer.”

As a result, police have now charged Collin Kizza Mukasa, 39, with one count of robbery, five counts of robbery with a firearm, four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, four counts of failure to comply with a release order and eight counts of breach of a firearm prohibition.
Mukasa is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.
