English professional footballer Bukayo Ayoyinka Saka, who plays as a right winger, for Premier League Club, Arsenal, has been named the Young Player of the Year.
The 21-year-old was also nominated for the player of the year award but he won the Premier League Young Player of the Year Award instead at the London Football Awards. He won ahead of teammates Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba.
Not only was it a night of celebration for Saka, but for the whole of the Gunners as the club’s Manager Mikel Arteta won the Manager of the Year Award. Martin Odegaard won the Premier League Player Award, while Aaron Ramsdale won the Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
The awards ceremony took place at the Roundhouse in Camden. “Arsenal sits five points clear at the top of the Premier League and will look to build on their success at the London Football Awards by winning their first Premier League title in nearly 20 years this season”, said Football.london.
Celebrating the win on his social media, Bukayo Saka tweeted “Thank you to the London Football Awards for awarding me Men’s Young Player of the Year. It is an honor to win it for a second time and congratulations to all the other winners! #Godsplan.”
