Chelsea has been knocked out of the Women’s Champions League final with a 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Thursday at Camp Nou. Barcelona progressed, winning on 2-1 aggregate.
Barcelona, who set a record in 2021, advanced to the final on June 3 where they will be facing either Wolfsburg or Arsenal.
Speaking to the media, Barcelona manager Jonatan Giraldez said “I had a good feeling about the match. It felt like we had control but only four or five minutes later, Chelsea had their chance and scored. That’s a bad moment but we found the courage and the management.”
“We are very happy, for the team and for the fans. We suffered when we had to suffer, we know it’s not easy – and we’re in another final”, Giraldez said.
Tweeting about their loss Chelsea FC Women wrote “this one hurts, but we’ll be back stronger.”
