Balde’s to sign New Barcelona Contract

Joan Laporta, Barcelona President and Jorge Mendes, Balde’s agent held meeting on Thursday to discuss extending the youngster’s contract which runs out in 2024.

The 18-year old is fast becoming the first-choice left-back ahead of Marcos Alonso and Jordi Alba, while making a suitable breakthrough campaign at Barcelona. Having been in nine games for the Blaugrana this season and registered three assists in the process.

Barcelona news reports that “while he still remains a work in progress, Balde is rated highly within the Barcelona camp and the club are hoping to tie him down to a long-term contract…”

The defender will be entering the final year of his deal with Barcelona at the end of the current season. Barca hopes to ensure his long-term stay at the club.
