Anthony Joshua Beats Otto Wallin as Deontay Wilder Suffers Defeat Against Joseph Parker

 

Anthony Joshua @anthonyjoshua put on a great performance to win Otto Wallin @ottowallin in a dominant five-round win in DAZN main event in Saudi Arabia.

The Nigerian-Briton, Joshua, boxed splendidly, dominating Wallin all through the five-round fight. With the knockout win, Joshua secured his third win in a row in 2023. Joshua boxed with solid, technical skill, stamping his authority on every round, and eventually hurt Wallin with a hefty right cross-left hook combination in the fifth round and corner pulls Wallin out of the fight.

Earlier in the night, American Deontay Wilder @bronzebomber suffered a defeat against New Zealander, Joseph Parker @joeboxerparker. Parker enjoyed a unanimous points-decision win with the judges awarding 118-111, 118-110, 120-108 in his favor.

Deontay’s shocking defeat set the stage for a potential showdown between Joshua and Wilder. However, speaking about Deontay’s defeat Joshua said “I wasn’t watching. I just focused on myself. I know how important it was for me. I heard that Deontay lost. So What? He’ll be back. Deontay, everything he said about me, I could rip him apart right now, but I’m going to take the higher ground.”

“You can come back. If he wanted to, he can come back. I’m sure everyone still wants to see that fight”, he added.

Joshua now holds a striking record of 27 victories and three losses, with 24 knockout wins. “This Joshua is the best heavyweight in the world. With this mindset he is unbeatable” says Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Meanwhile, a motivated Daniel Dubois @dynamite_daniel_dubois reignited his  career by defeating Jarrell Miller @bigbabymiller with just 10 seconds on the clock in a thrilling fight. “This was an important win for me”, said Dubois in his post-fight interview.

“I had to prove it to myself, I had to show myself that I was a real fighter. The confidence that I might have been missing before, I gained it tonight”, added Dubois.
