WCW- Temilade “Tems” Openiyi

Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. Tems has been active since 2018 when she released her debut single “Mr. Rebel”, a song she produced herself.

She has been a roll since then, constantly dropping hot lyrics for her fans and gaining prominence among colleagues. Tems released another single, “Try Me’ in 2019 and was chosen by DJ Edu as one of the ten artists to watch in 2020.

The 27 year old rose to fame in 2020 when she featured on the REMIX of American songwriter Khalid and English electronic music duo Disclosure’s single, “Know your worth”, alongside Davido. Tems also released her debut extended play for “Broken Ears” the same year, where her single “Damages” gathered over five million views on YouTube.

In 2020 as well, Tems was featured on Wizkid’s “Essence” from his album “Made in Lagos”, which earned her a number one spot on BBC 1Xtra Airplay chart, her first entry on Billboard Hot 100, a Soul Train Music Awards and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Global Music Performance.

Tems has been featured on songs both by Nigerian and international musicians earning her several awards and nominations. The most recent of one of her numerous achievements is gaining her fourth Hot 100 with her song “Free Mind”. Tems was announced as a guest artist on Beyonce’s album “Renaissance” in July and covered Bob Marley’s No Woman No Cry for the Marvel movie Black Panther.
