The biggest event, “the Battle of the Baddest showdown”, in Saudi Arabia is coming up with Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou bout on Saturday, Oct. 28.

In the TNT Sports face-to-face interview with Carl Frampton, Fury says “there was a lot of boxers that were offered the chance to fight with me, but they refused. However, Francis stepped up to the plate and now challenging a heavyweight champion and WWE king…so hats off to Francis for stepping up, when other boxers didn’t. So, fair play, this man can achieve anything he wants…”

Francis feels confident that he will win this bout saying “of course, what do you think”, when Frampton asked. “We all know he is the best in the business when it comes to boxing … but I still have the confidence in myself.”

Meanwhile, in order to win tis bout, Fury thinks he needs to put in “12 weeks training camp, as opposed to the six weeks he would put in for the likes of Deontay Wilder.” He said “I am giving Francis 100% focus and because he is not a boxer, and he is coming from a different background, I have to prepare more.”

“Because with normal boxers, I can prepare… it’s going to come from the same angle, but with Francis, it might come from different and I have to be prepared for that. That’s why I am training as hard as I can and giving it a 100% respect.”

When asked how he plans to hold Fury’s size, speed and movement during the fight. Francis said “Well, I prepare to make him move legs less. And I know that he asked for the biggest size of the ring possible.”

“Oh no, I didn’t. I didn’t ask for any ring”, Fury countered. “I’ll fight you in a phone box, no problem.”

“Ok, so you didn’t ask for a 24-foot ring, Tyson?” Francis asked. “Nope, I didn’t ask for any size ring. I have not spoken to the guys. I don’t get involved in the business. But a championship ring is only 20 feet, so if they’ve asked for a 24-foot ring, let’s do it in a 20-foot. Easy”, replied Fury.

“They asked for 24”, Francis reiterated. The discussion moved on to another topic from there. However, it drifted back to the topic of the ring size a few minutes later.

Replying to a question about his opinion on the number of weeks Fury plans to train as opposed to his preparation time for other fighters, Francis said “Well, that just proves that he is very smart. He knows that it is going to be a fight, unlike some people’s thinking.”

“And I have been training for over 12 weeks because, to be honest this is my first boxing camp and there is a lot of things I am trying to understand as far as boxing is concerned. So, the goal is to get ready and give him the war.”
