The city of Glendale, Arizona, is planning to give Taylor Swift @taylorswift a very warm welcome by temporarily renaming the city in her honor as she kicks off her much anticipated Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium.
Major Jerry P. Weiers will reportedly read aloud a proclamation next Monday that will reveal the city’s new temporary name while Swift is in town performing. The name will remain in effect until March 18.
According to the city, it wanted to do “something highly unusual” to celebrate the 33-year-old Grammy award winner’s decision to launch her tour in Arizona. The Westgate Entertainment District will put up welcoming messages, while local restaurants will offer Swift-themed menu items.
Swift will perform in Glendale for two nights on March 17 and March 18 before moving on to Las Vegas on March 24. She first announced her tour in November, 2022, following the release of her 10th studio album, Midnights.
In other News, Stanford University will now be offering students a course on Taylor Swift’s song “All Too Well”, a 10-week course that is an in-depth analysis of the 2012 hit song, reports AS Entertainment.
The report says the course will join the list of Stanford’s ITALIC 99 courses which according to the university’s website, is designed to “offer students an introduction to topics taught by alumni of the program.
