Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of Southern and Western Alberta.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada says some residents will be seeing a lot of snow over the next two days. ECCC says the region will be seeing heavy snowfall, beginning Tuesday afternoon and continuing through the day on Wednesday, tapering off on Thursday morning.
The agency said between 15 and 25 centimeters is expected. ECCC said “Highest snowfall totals are expected to be in the extreme southwest of the province, near Pincher Creek and Waterton National Park.”
Canmore, Bragg Creek, Longview, Lethbridge, Fort Macleod, Milk River, Waterton Lakes National Park. Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass are affected.
The agency advised drivers to take precautions during the snowfall. “Slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop”, said the warning.
Meanwhile, Calgary Transit says they have identified several areas of the city that are more challenging for their buses to get through when road conditions are extremely snowy or icy. It says all “snow detour routes will activated in time for the morning commute on Wednesday.”
