OnePlus 12 to Feature New Sony-LYTIA Camera Sensor

OnePlus has confirmed that its upcoming flagship model, OnePlus 12, will feature an upgraded camera with Sony LYTIA Dual-layer stacked sensor.

The company collaborated with Sony to incorporate the Sony LYT-T808 LYTIA image sensor, equipped with dual-layer stacked CMOS sensor, into the smartphone which is expected to launch early next year.

OnePlus says in an official Weibo post, “the new generation of Sony’s LYTIA sensor embodies beauty with light and opens up a new future for mobile imaging.” The new Sony LYTIA stacked CMOS sensor features a two-layer transistor pixel technology. The sensor has a separate layer for the photodiode and transistor layers. The sensor is expected to support better light capture.

The post further reads “As a leader in mobile imaging, Sony has long been recognized by users for its cutting-edge technology and imaging effects. Many top cameras and high-end imaging flagships use Sony sensors. The new generation of Sony’s “Light Yu LYTIA” joins hands with OnePlus mobile phones to imbue beauty with light and open up a new future for mobile imaging.”

“OnePlus 12 will be the world’s first equipped with our jointly developed Guangyu high-end sensor, so stay tuned!” read the post.

OnePlus has also confirmed several key specifications for the upcoming flagship model, which includes processor and display information. The smartphone will launch with Qualcomm’s new snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The phone will also reportedly be equipped with a DisplayMate A+ rated X1 “Oriental Screen” with a resolution of 2K and a peak brightness level of 2,600 nits. The oriental screen, according to OnePlus, is the first of its kind.
