Raheem Sterling could reportedly face a potential ban after appearing to throw an object into the crowd after Chelsea’s Premier League match with Tottenham on Monday.

The incident occurred moments after Cole Palmer’s equalizer from the penalty spot in the first half following Cristian Romero’s red card. Palmer celebrated by putting a finger to his lips in front of the Tottenham fans, where he was joined by his teammates.

A pitchside video which was posted on Chelsea’s own TikTok, on Tuesday morning, account shows Palmer being hit on the leg by an object launched from a part of the stadium housing the Spurs fans. As the players break away from their celebration to restart the game, Sterling appears to bend down and throw the item back into the crowd before running off.

The incident was not spotted by the officials during the match. However, the Daily Mail has reported that an FA source says the incident is being reviewed, as they look to determine whether any action needs to be taken.

Sterling could face a similar punishment as other players like Didier Drogba and Richarlison who threw objects back into the crowd.
