Canadian Paralympic Triathlete, Stefan Daniel @stefandaniel97 has claimed a silver medal at the World Triathlon Para Championships on Saturday in Pontevedra, Spain. This win extends his streak of podium finishes to eight.
Competing in the men’s PTS5 classification, Daniel finished just a second after Germany’s two-time Paralympic champion, Martin Schulz, who clocked 00:56:18 for his fourth world championship title. Daniel clocked 00:56:45.
USA’s Chris Hammer clocked 00:57:16, earning him a bronze medal.
Daniel is a two-time Paralympic medalist, and five-time world champion. He became a world champion in 2015. He silver medalled at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the Men’s PT4. In 2017, Daniel won the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Rotterdam and the Iseo- Franciacorta ITU Parathriathlon World Cup.
In the 2020 Summer Paralympics, Daniel won the bronze medal in the Men’s PTS5 category.
