According to Environment Canada, some parts of Alberta are expected to experience heavy snowfall. The agency issued a warning on Sunday afternoon for Highway 93 in Banff National Park, from Jasper to Saskatchewan River Crossing, and from Lake Loiuse to Saskatchewan River Crossing.

The alert issued by agency reads “the heaviest snow will fall tonight and during the day on Monday. Snow levels are expected to be between 1,600 and 1,700 metres. A long period of heavy, wet snow will continue over higher elevations, with total amounts of 20 to 30cm.”

The snow will reportedly continue until Tuesday night. Environment Canada says visibility is expected to be suddenly reduced during times of heavy snowfall, with roads, walkways and parking lots difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

The agency advised people to consider postponing non-essential travel until condition improve.
