Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a special weather statement for the city of Calgary and the area along the Highway 2 corridor.
According to the agency, snow will begin on Monday morning in these areas and push east through the day. “A brief period of rain is possible Monday morning before precipitation changes over to snow. This may result in slippery travel conditions”, said ECCC.
“A few centimeters of snow may stick to the ground before the snow begins to taper off Monday night. Warm ground means that some of the snow may melt and snowfalls amounts will likely vary considerably.”
ECCC says Calgarians should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
