The Calgary Police Service (CPS)’s homicide unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occured in the northeast community of Homestead on Friday evening.
According to the police, at around 7:20pm, today, Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, they were called to a residence located in the 200 block of Homestead Drive N.E., for reports that a man had been shot.
“Upon arrival, officers located one man deaceased. Suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.”
Altough the investigation is still in its early stages, police believe the incident may have been targeted. CPS says officers remain on scene speaking with witnesses and collecting CCTV from the area.
An autopsy is being scheduled by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 403-266-1234 or drop anonymous tips on Crime Stoppers.
