One of the three suspects wanted in a September 2021 kidnapping and robbery in Calgary was arrested by police in Edmonton on New Year’s Day.
According to a Tuesday released by the Calgary Police, Agout Atak Agout, 23, who was wanted on Canada-wide warrants for his involvement in kidnapping was charged with 22 offences, including kidnapping, robbery, extortion, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and multiple firearms offences.
The police are still in search of 22-year-old Eyuel Tamrat and 21-year-old Bol Atak Agout. Agout Atak Agout was apprehended in the provincial capital and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5.
The three men were charged in connection to the kidnap and robbery of a Calgary woman. According to the police, on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at approximately 5:15pm, a woman was kidnapped and subsequently robbed when she left her residence to meet a friend.
During the incident, the three armed men entered the woman’s vehicle and confined her to the back seat. The victim was then driven around the city for several hours while the men stole various items belonging to her, including her vehicle. The woman suffered minor injuries.
Police says two of the suspects were eventually arrested after investigations, but they were released on bail and refused to comply with court-ordered release conditions.
The other two suspects are believed to be in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge or British Columbia. Police describes Bol Agout as 6”2 tall, 230 pounds, with a heavy build, black hair and brown eyes. He is also known as “Boomz”.
Eyuel Tamrat is described as 5”10 tall, 180 pounds, with a medium build, black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on both arms. He is also known as “$light”. Tamrat faces 34 charges and Bol Agout faces 22 charges. Both men are charged with kidnapping, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and multiple firearms offences.
