Calgary City Council has rejected a number of recommendations addressing Indigenous affordable housing from its housing affordability task force.
The task force has been working for the past year to bring suggestions to deal with the affordability crisis in the province. Report says the task force suggested 33 actions but the council voted 7-8 against.
The 15 member task force recommendations included improving living conditions for people in rental housing; changes to the Land Use Bylaw; proposals to make it easier to build housing across the province, amongst others.
