Popular Instagram socialite, Pascal Okechukwu also known as Cubana Chieft Priest has been granted ₦10 Million bail with two sureties in like sum.
Cubana Chief Priest was charged with three counts relating to the misuse of the nation’s currency, specifically involving spraying and handling the currency inappropriately at a social gathering, which infringes the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
It was alleged that the socialite committed the offence at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024. He did this while participating in a social gathering, where he was reportedly seen tampering with ₦500 notes issued by the CBN.
He was seen spraying the currency continuously for a duration of two hours. He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.
He pleaded not guilty and the court granted him bail in the sum of ₦10M.
This is coming days after the EFCC arraigned cross dresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky on similar charges for which he was sentenced to a six-month jail term.
