Bayern Munich have announced that Thomas Tuchel has become their new boss after firing Julian Nagelsmann. The Bundesliga champions are struggling domestically this season and are not enjoying their normal dominance.
The reigning German champions said in a statement “FC Bayern and head coach Julian Nagelsmann have parted company. This decision was taken by CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic in consultation with club president Herbert Hainer. Nagelsmann will be succeeded by Thomas Tuchel.”
@fcbayern said Tuchel would receive a contract until June 2025 and he will supervise training for the first time on Monday.
Tuchel, 49, has been out of job since being sacked by Chelsea in September under the new ownership of Todd Boehly. Tuchel’s first match will come on April 1 when Bayern meets his former club, Dortmund who sits top pf the table.
Tuchel guided Chelsea to the Champions League title when they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the final in Porto, 2021, but was sacked and replaced by English manager Graham Potter.
