Canada is a country filled with beautiful lakes that supports immense amounts of Vegetation and Wildlife. There is a plethora of animals living in and around the lakes, and this includes snakes. Snakes often live in lakes, perhaps due to the abundance of hunting prey and several other reasons. Canadian lakes are no exception to snake infestations, hence these are the three most infested lakes in Canada:

Lake Erie:

Located in Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes in North America, borders both the United States and Canada. While snakes are not particularly abundant in the lake itself, the surrounding areas, such as wetlands and marshes, is home to snake populations. Some of the snakes you can find on Lake Erie includes, Northern Water Snake, Eastern Foxsnake, Lake Erie Watersnake, and Eastern Garter Snake.

Lake Huron:

Also one of the five Great Lakes of North America, and having one of the longest shorelines, and 30,000 islands, Lake Huron is home to many snake species. Its large shorelines provides home for many aquatic and semi-aquatic snake species including the Eastern Fox Snake, Watersnake and the Common Ribbonsnake.

Sylvan Lake:

This lake is located in central Alberta and a popular tourist destination, thanks to its vibrant lakeside community. The lake was first named Snake Lake, due to its abundance of garter snakes, but was later renamed Sylvan Lake. The most prominent snake specie on this lake is the Eastern Garter Snake.
