President Tinubu Mourns Nollywood Actors Mr.Ibu and Sisi Quadri


President Bola Tinubu on Sunday mourned the death of veteran Nollywood actors John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu and Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri.

The president praised the actors as geniuses whose work provided joy and relief to millions of Nigerians. In a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, the president urged the bereaved to take solace in the truth that these beloved Nigerians have passed on, they lived through their works which would remain an inspiration and a fount of good cheer for many.

“The president also commiserates with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and the entire creative community, assuring them of his support, thoughts and prayers in this time of grief.”

“President Tinubu prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for all those in mourning”, read the statement.

Sisi Quadri died on Friday, March 1st at the general hospital in Ogbomosho where he received treatment for an undisclosed illness. Meanwhile, Mr. Ibu died of Cardiac arrest after he had a relapse about a week ago. He was reportedly rushed to Evercare hospital in Lagos on Saturday and died shortly after.
