Pirates of the Caribbean Star Tamayo Perry Killed in Shark Attack

Tamayo Perry, a lifeguard who starred in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie has died after being attacked by a Shark off Oahu in Hawaii.

Perry, 49, died on Sunday afternoon while surfing Goat Island off Oahu North Shore, Honoloulu’s emergency confirmed in a press conference.

Officials reportedly got the emergency call to Malaekahana Beach at around 13:00 local time. According to Hawaiinewsnow, “lifeguards brought the body to shore via jet ski, while onshore, EMS paramedics assisted with the death pronouncement.”

Perry also acted in Lost, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Crush, Ful Throttle and Charlie’s Angels. He worked as a lifeguard on the North Shore and was an instructor on the Oahu Surfing Experience.

Acting Honolulu Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lager described Perry as “a lifeguard loved by all.” He added that Perry was well known on Oahu’s north shore and around the world.

“Tamayo’s personality was infectious, and as much as people loved him, he loved everyone else more. Our condolences go out to Tamayo’s family, said Lager.

Mayor Rick Blangiardi said in the press conference that Tamayo’s death was a “tragic loss.” He said “Tamayo was a legendary waterman and highly respected, he grew up right over here, just a great member of our ocean safety team.”
