The Canadian rock band, Nickelback, one of the most commercially successful rock bands in Canada, will be inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 2023.
According to CBC, the organizers said the band will be inducted for “remaining at the forefront of the music scene in Canada and around the world over the past two decades.”
The Band was formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta and have sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Despite the success of the ban around the world, they have been subject of numerous jokes.
Speaking with CBC, Chad Kroeger, lead vocalist and guitarist of the band, said “We didn’t see any of this coming. I don’t know whose idea this was, I don’t know how this got pushed through. But it’s just, it just doesn’t feel real”.
“When you’re being honored by your peers in your home country, that’s a hell of an award. That’s not something we take lightly at all”, he told CBC. @nickelback
