Juventus Reach Agreement With Aston Villa for Luiz

Juventus have struck a deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz @dgoficial in a €50 million deal.

The transfer of the 23-year-old midfielder entails Juventus’ Enzo Barrenechea @enzo_barrenechea8 and Samuel Iling-Junior @samuelilingjr moving to Villa Park as part of the deal. The reports say Juventus will receive €22 million from Villa for the two players, plus a further €3 million linked to bonuses.

Luiz will reportedly undergo medical while on a training camp with Brazil next week. Initially, Weston McKennie @west.mckennie was part of the negotiations, but the wages of the United States international posed a challenge at the beginning of the week and it eventually proved impossible to finalize a deal.

Also, Aston Villa Women’s Switzerland striker Alisha Lehmann @alishalehmann7 will be transferring to Juventus. Villa have also agreed to deals for Tim Iroegbunam @tim.iro8 to join Everton and for Omari Kellyman @omarikellyman to join Chelsea.

Villa is expected to sell players this summer to follow the profit and sustainability (PSR) regulations, given their reported loss of £119 million in their accounts up to 31 May 2023.

They are set to sign Ian Maatsen @maatsen_ from Chelsea after agreeing a deal in excess of £35 million for the left-back.
