Kolby Swanson, a four-year-old Calgarian, has been chosen to be part of a campaign that will be featured in New York’s Time Square.
Young Swanson is being featured as part of an awareness campaign by the National Down Syndrome Society. His picture, along with that of several other young people with Down Syndrome, will be part of a one-hour presentation promoting inclusion and acceptance.
The presentation will reportedly air between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. ET on September 9.
Telara Renz, Swanson’s mom told Global News that she hopes the campaign inspires people, especially students as they head back to school. “It’s such a great time to talk to your kids about how cool it is to be kind. People with Down Syndrome make really good friends. They have a lot to share and a lot to teach. How cool it is to be kind and ask them to play.”
