If you have been paying attention to your car exhaust, you may find out that a certain color of smoke is coming out of it. The color is a sign from your vehicle that something is wrong and it needs attention. Find out what these colors are and what the potential problem could be.

Blue Smoke: When this happens, some engine oil is being burned off. Other potential cause of this could be valve seals, worn or damaged piston rings. A worn piston ring allows oil to enter the combustion chamber, thereby creating bluish smoke.

Black Smoke: This could mean a number of things including incomplete combustion of your fuel-air mixture. Generally, the fuel-air ratio in your engine is too rich, the fuel injectors are either adding too much fuel or the intake valve isn’t allowing enough air in. However, in diesel vehicles it could be a soot build-up.

White Smoke: This means coolant is exposed to your engine’s combustion process. The problem can occur when there is a broken or blown head gasket, which allows engine water to seep into pistons.

If you notice any of these smokes coming from you exhaust, employ the services of experts for a proper fix up of your vehicle.
