The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is designed with huge spread of trims, cool new features, fully redesigned interior and exterior, two new turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains and of course the eye-catching massive air dams.
The all-new pickup is offered in eight grades, covering three body and cab configurations, and four engine options, including a first of its kind off-road seat with a suspension built into it. The new lineup includes the Trailhunter, SR (XtraCab, Double Cab, SR5 (XtraCab, Double Cab), TRD PreRunner (XtraCab), TRD Sport (Double Cab), TRD Off-Road (Double Cab), Limited (Double Cab) and TRD Pro (Double Cab).
The 2024 Tacoma Lineup have all been styles by Toyota’s North American CALTY design centers in California to have a “high lift, big tires, slim body and a powerful athletic stance.” They have also been fashioned with LED headlights, hood scoops, side functional air intakes, integrated roof and tailgate spoilers.
More fascinating in the design is the massive air dam which are essential to the fuel economy and sleekness of tall vehicles. The air dams redirects air around the extremely draggy front wheels and gives the truck much better smoothness.
According to Tacoma chief Engineer Sheldon Brown, the air dam is a “functional air dam, it has openings there so you can access the recovery points.” Consequently, the wide-track box-nosed pickup trucks will present little or no challenges when it comes to maximizing fuel efficiency.
