Chief of Saskatchewan Set to Speak on Stabbing Suspects’ Death

The suspect of the Saskatchewan mass stabbing, Miles Sanderson, died in the hospital after being arrested by the RCMP.

The chief of the Saskatchewan First Nation is set to speak on the death of Miles on Thursday after the suspect of the fatal mass stabbing died in their custody.

Miles was arrested on Wednesday evening after having evaded arrest for four days. He unfortunately died shortly after.

The suspect was arrested following information of a break and entry where a truck was stolen in the town of Wakaw. The suspect was later found near Rosthern and was arrested immediately after his identity was confirmed.

The RCMP assistant Commissioner, Rhonda Blackmore says the suspect went into medical distress after and life-saving measures were performed. He was later transported to a Saskatoon hospital where he was pronounced dead. She says she cannot speak for the specific manner of the suspect’s death.

His brother Damien Sanderson was also found dead, earlier this week after the rampage. The police are yet to reveal any relationship between the stabbing victims or the motive behind the stabbings.
