Seven people have been hospitalized due to Carbon Monoxide poisoning in the Northwest Calgary neighborhood of Brentwood.

Emergency crews were reportedly called to a high-rise building located at 50 Brentwood Common N.W. at around 2:40pm for reports of two people feeling sick after working in a parkade at an apartment.

A Calgary Fire Department Spokesperson said crews had been using a gas-powered pressure washer inside the building parkade at the time. The carbon monoxide reader reportedly registered 1,000 parts per million inside the parkade.

This has resulted in seven people being hospitalized in non-life-threatening condition. The rest of the building was reading zero parts per million, so residents were allowed to stay in their units.

All exits and elevators into the parkade was blocked and fire fighters worked on ventilating the area.
