Calgary Police Seeks Information in Highfield Shooting

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) are seeking public assistance in relation to a shooting that took place on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 in the southeast community of Highfield.

According to a news release by the police, at approximately 3:15pm, they got a call reporting a shooting in the 900 block of 42 Avenue S.E. When the police arrived, they located a black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee that been involved in a collision.

CPS said the vehicle also appeared to have been struck by multiple rounds of ammunition. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting. The police believes that the victim was driving on 42 Avenue S.E. when a black Ford F-150 rear-ended the victim causing the vehicle to lose control, striking a utility pole.

“The suspects then fired gunshots into the victim’s vehicle, before fleeing northbound on Eighth Street S.E.”, said the police. They added “After reviewing CCTV footage in the area, investigators believe there may be multiple witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting.”

CPS is asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the collision area or time of shooting to call 403-266-1234 or drop anonymous tips on Crime Stoppers.
