The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is asking the public’s help to identify a person believed to be responsible for an assault at CF Market Mall last month.
Police believes that around 4:15pm, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, four people entered the Sport Chek at CF Market Mall, located at 3625 Shaganappi Tr. N.W. An employee suspected the group of shoplifting and requested they leave the store. The group left without taking any items.
“A short time later, one person from the group returned to the store, approached the employee, and sprayed the employee and her coworker with bear spray before leaving the mall in a vehicle”, reads a CPS News release.
The employees reportedly received First Aid, but they did not require transport to the hospital.
Police describes the suspect as a man in his early 20s, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ tall, a slim build and black hair. “At the time of the assault, he was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and dark-coloured pants.”
“The vehicle is described a light-hrey or silver 2004 to 2006 Buick LaCrosse with rust above the back left wheel.”
CPS is asking anyone with information about this incident to call 403-266-1234 or drop anonymous tips on Crime Stoppers.
