World Leaders Head to London for Queen Elizabeth II Funeral

Ahead of Queen Elizabeth II funeral which will take place on Monday, September 19, several world leaders, royalty and dignitaries arrive in London.

Report says “thousands of police, hundreds of troops and an army of officials made final preparations Sunday for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II”. The funeral will be the largest gathering of world leaders in years.

Canada Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, U.S President, Joe Biden, Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, U.K Prime Minister, Liz Truss, and other dignitaries and royals are arriving in London. 500 royals, heads of State and heads of government have been invited to the funeral.

Thousands of mourners continue to line up to file past the Queen’s coffin as it lies in state at Parliament Westminster Hall. The lying in state continues until early Monday morning, when the Queen’s coffin will be moved on a gun carriage pulled by 142 Royal Navy ratings to nearby Westminster Abbey for the funeral.

After the service at the Abbey, the Queen’s coffin will be transported through the heart of London on the carriage, then taken in a hearse to Windsor, where the Queen will be buried alongside her husband, Prince Philip.
