Russian President, Vladimir Putin has reportedly visited occupied parts of the Ukrainian region of Kherson, according to the Kremlin.
The Kremlin says the President attended a military command meeting to hear reports from military commanders. BBC reports says Putin is also thought to have visited the Luhansk region. Last year, Russia annexed the regions of Kherson and Luhansk.
Although it is not clear when the trip was made, Russian media reported that the President also enquired about the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region, which Moscow has also claimed as part of Russia.
During the meeting, Putin said “I do not want to distract you from your direct duties related to command and control… it is important for me to hear your opinion on how the situation is developing, to listen to you, to exchange information.”
“I would ask you to start your report with the situation in the Kherson direction, then in the Zaporizhzhia direction”, he said according to the Kremlin.
