Report says people have been urged to roam around as homes have been swept away “amid high winds and surging water levels”. Brian Button, mayor of Part aux Basques, said in City News report “so anybody that’s being told to leave their homes, you need to leave”.

“A house can be replaced but you can’t be, so you need to go and…we’ve already had houses and things that have been washed away so we need to go now”, says Button.

The storm has caused major power outages in several regions of Eastern Canada, like Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
