Langford who played 135 consecutive games for Calgary Stampeders over nine seasons (1950-1958), was one of the franchise’s early stars and toughest athletes. He impressed football fans, reporters and players in the 1950s.
The Calgary Stampeders announced his death on their official twitter page “it is with great sadness the Calgary Stampeders learn of the death early Monday morning of Harry Langford”. He died Monday morning at the age of 92.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Langford was a five-time CFL West all-star lineman and was instated into the Stampeders Wall of Fame in 1992. He was instated into the Manitoba Hall of Fame in in 2012. One of the greatest moment in his career is having his brother Jim, as a teammate.
After his long-lasting playing career, Langford was named coach of the Colts Junior football team in 1965.
