Russia-Ukraine War: Crimea Bridge Damaged In Explosion

A huge explosion brought down sections of the Crimean Bridge early Saturday morning.

The longest bridge in Europe, the Crimean Bridge, exploded in the early hours of Saturday. The explosion wrecked the railway part of the Bridge.

Reuters reports that the “the early morning explosion on the bridge over the Kerch Strait, for which Russia did not immediately assign blame, prompted gleeful messages from Ukrainian officials but no claim to responsibility”.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin has signed a decree instructing tighter security for the bridge, as well as immediate investigation to the cause of the explosion, said the same report. Officials reported the death of three people from the explosion.

The road was cleared for traffic to resume and the railway part has also been reopened.
