The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to inquire into team Nigeria’s poor performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of its efforts to prevent future failures.
According to the resolution, which was passed on Thursday, the House expressed concern that none of the 82 athletes who represented the country returned with a medal. The lawmakers disparaged the massive budget of over ₦12 billion allocated for the event, which yielded no positive results.
The House also called on President Bola Tinubu to establish a commission of inquiry to address issues related to sports arbitration in the country.
