Rep Oye Shares Nigerian Food at Ronald McDonald House, DC

In the form of a true leader and a man of service, Dr. Oye I Owolewa, US Representative of Washington, DC, continues to volunteer his time and love for DC Statehood and equality. On November 23, he shared Nigerian food with families of sick kids for a thanksgiving feast at Ronald McDonald House, DC.

The Ronald McDonald House serves the families of children who have cancer, transplants and other long term ailments. In the bid to create happiness during a hard time, Rep Oye’s office shared traditional African meals of Jollof rice, puff puff and plantains to the families.

In his words, “As the first Nigerian-American US Representative, I find it important to share my experience and background to service.” “In this office, not only are we fighting for DC statehood and resources, but we also create fun moments where we can bridge cultures.”

We commend @repoyedc for his good work towards humanity and Washington DC.
