Nick Carter Performs with Backstreet Boys Amid Rape Allegations

Nick Carter has made his first appearance on stage, with backstreet boys after he was accused of rape.

Nick Carter has appeared on stage, along with the Backstreet Boys, at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert, in New York. Earlier this week, the 42-year old singer was sued for sexual assault by a woman who claims she was assaulted by Carter 20 years ago.

Together with his bandmates – Kevin Richardson, A.J McLean, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough, the group performed some of their classic hits including “Last Christmas.” The band put on an all-white ensemble.

The concert also had performances from Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Charlie Puth, The Kid LAROI and Demi Lovato, Dove Cameron, Ava Max and others.

The Lawsuit against Carter was filed by a woman named Shannon Ruth, in which she said Carter raped her when she was 17 after attending one of his concerts in Tacoma, Washington. According to her, she was sexually assaulted on his tour bus after a concert in 2001, when he was 21.

Carter denied all allegations and Michael Holtz, his lawyer told ET “this claim about an incident that supposedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally meritless but also entirely untrue.” Holtz continued “unfortunately, for several years now, Ms. Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick – and those allegations have changed repeatedly and material over time.”

“No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer – there is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize.”
