Nick Carter, elder brother to late singer, Aaron Carter has paid tribute to his brother on Twitter despite “complicated relationship”.

Nick, 42, tweeted, alongside several pictures of them in their younger years, “My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed”

“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villains here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you baby brother”, he wrote.

Aaron, aged 34, was found dead in his bathtub in his home in Lancaster, California according to reports. He was discovered by a house keeper at around 11am on November 5. The police reported that all efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

Aaron’s twin sister Angel Carter Conrad, with whom he had a stormy relationship, also paid tribute to Aaron. She wrote on her Instagram, with their childhood pictures, “to my twin… I loved you beyond measure. You will be missed dearly”

“My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them. I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again”.

Aaron reportedly had an edgy relationship with twin Angel and older brother Nick. In 2019, they both filed restraining orders against Aaron over claims that he threatened their lives and that of their family.

Aaron had been to rehab several times. Early this year, he reportedly checked into rehab with the hope of regaining custody of his son, Prince who he shared with his fiancé Melanie Martin.  In 2012, their sister, Leslie Carter, died of an overdose at age 25. @angelcharissma @nickcarter @NickCarter @AngelCarter
