Meet The African Beauty Queens Representing Africa at the 71st Miss Universe Pageant

The Miss Universe pageant has officially kicked off in New Orleans

The 71st Miss Universe competition will feature 84 beauty queens from around the world competing for the much coveted Miss Universe crown. The event will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu who took the last victory to India, will crown her successor at the grand finale. The competition will be hosted by Jeannie Mai and Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo from America.

Nine stunning women are representing Africa in the annual international beauty pageant. They are: 21-year-old Hannah Iribhoghe (Miss Universe Nigeria) @tharealmontana22; 25-year-old Swelia Da Silva Antonio (Miss Universe Angola) @sweliadsantonio; 25-year-old Alexandrine Belle-etoile (Miss Universe Mauritius) @alex.belleetoile; 24-year-old Gabriella Gonthier (Miss Universe Seychelles) @_gonthier.

26-year-old Mouketey Lynette Monalisa Jelly (Miss Universe Cameroon) @miss_universe_cameroon; 27-year-old Engracia Mofuman (Miss Universe Ghana) @_engraxiia; 23-year-old Cassia Sharpley (Miss Universe Namibia) @cassiasharpley; 23-year-old Ndavi Nokeri (Miss Universe South Africa) @ ndavi.nokerii; 21-year-old Alba Isabel Obama Maliko (Miss Universe Equatorial Guinea) @alba_isabel_obama.

Seychelles is joining the competition for the first time since 1995. Africa’s last win was from South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi @zozitunzi in 2019. Congratulations to the African queens who made it to the @missuniverse competition.
