The man was reported to have been speeding and under the influence of alcohol. The Calgary police reported on their official twitter page that the collision is still under investigation. According to report, the car may have been used for racing and is also not road worthy.
The police reminds the public that street racing is prohibited and could have deathly consequences such as this.
Patrols continue on the areas known for street racing and the police ask citizens to report any suspected dangerous driving by calling 403-266-1234 or submit a Traffic Service Request for issues extending beyond a single driver.
