Anthony Joshua was brutally knocked out by Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their Wembley mega-fight in front of a record 96,000 fans on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old floored Joshua four times, before knocking him out in the fifth round.
“I have only got a few words to say: Are you not entertained? Said Dubois at Wembley after beating Joshua. “I am a gladiator; I am a warrior to the bitter end. I want to get to the top level of this game and reach my full potential.”
“I have been on a rollercoaster ride. This is my time, this is my redemption story, and I’m not going to stop until I reach my full potential.”
Joshua’s defeat is the fourth in career, robbing him of a shot at becoming undisputed world champion. However, he has refused to walk away from the sport. “You’re probably asking if I still want to consider fighting”, he said.
“We took a shot at success and we came up short. What does that mean now? That we’re going to run away? We’re going to live to fight another day. And that’s what I am, I am a warrior.”
“Always walk with your head high. We rolled the dice for the third time. There have been 13 world-title fights, not every one of them has been successful but everyone’s been fun and entertaining. There were a few mistakes in there but that’s the name of the game. Fine margins will cost you at the top level. So, thank you.”
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury defended Anthony Joshua following the humbling defeat. Speaking to FightHubTV he said “It’s heavyweight boxing s**t happens, you get knocked spark out. It could have been me. In the heavyweight division, it’s what happens.”
“What went wrong is what always happens in heavyweight boxing. A good right hand on the end of the chin, and that was it.”
