Rock legends Liam and Noel Gallagher have fueled the rumors that an Oasis reunion could finally happen as the brothers tease that a band announcement could be made on Tuesday.
The brothers, who had their last gig at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, 2009, could play a series of gigs in London and Manchester next summer reports The Sunday Times.
A short clip was posted on both brother’s social page in the same font and style of the band’s famous logo, as well as the official Oasis page. The clip which was posted on Sunday, shows the date “27.08.24.” before flickering and then reading “8am”.
The video came after a day of speculation that the two brother were finally getting the band back together after 15 years of separation. Industry insiders told Sunday Times that band are booked to play 10 nights at Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park.
There is also speculation that the band could headline Glastonbury.
Liam added to the speculation when he posted on X saying “I never did like that word FORMER.” He also responded to some comments on social media when fans asked for confirmation.
One fan online wrote Heaton Park is a “terrible venue for concerts” and Liam responded “See you down the front.” Another fan asked when the reunion dates will be announced and he replied “Next Friday…”
Also, at his headline Reading Festival set on Sunday evening, Liam dedicated the Oasis track Half The World Away to his Noel. He said “I wanna dedicate this song to Noel Gallagher.” At the end of the gig, the same clip teasing Tuesday’s date was shown on the stage’s main screens.
At their last performance, the brothers had a backstage brawl which led Noel to leave the band, ending a partnership that had plummeted them to fame.
Formed in 1991 in Machester, the Britpop group rose to fame with hits like Wonderwall and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. If true, the reunion would come 30 years after Oasis’ chart-topping Definitely Maybe album.
